ABOUT DABCA
The Doddappa Appa College of BCA, Basavakalyan is a department of SSK Basaveshwar College Campus established in the year 2001. The college offers a 3-year (6-semester) undergraduate programme focusing on software application design, IT systems and emerging technologies. The department was affiliated with Gulbarga University, Kalaburagi from 2001-02 to 2022-23 and is currently affiliated with Bidar University, Bidar from the academic year 2023-24 onwards. The programme is approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The department provides in-depth training in Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Networking with an annual intake of 130 students.
In the entire Bidar District, Doddappa Appa College of BCA, Basavakalyan is the first institution to offer the Bachelor of Computer Applications programme, providing quality computer education to students, especially those belonging to poor and economically weaker sections of society.
The Department of Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) focuses on providing quality education in Computer Science and its applications. The department aims to develop skilled professionals capable of meeting the growing demands of the IT industry.
The department offers a well-structured curriculum covering Programming Languages, C Programming, C++, Database Management Systems, Data Communication & Networking, Web Development, Mobile Application Development and Data Science. Equal importance is given to theoretical knowledge and practical learning through laboratory sessions, projects and internships.
The department is equipped with modern computer laboratories as per AICTE, New Delhi and Bidar University norms. Updated software tools, experienced and dedicated faculty members guide students in academics as well as career development. Special attention is given to emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science and Cloud Computing. The department also encourages students to participate in seminars, workshops, coding competitions and industry interactions to enhance their technical and communication skills.
