ANTI RAGGING COMMITTEE
As per NCTE guidelines, Doddappa Appa College of BCA strongly
condemns and strictly prohibits ragging in any form. The College
follows a Zero Tolerance Policy towards ragging
and is committed to providing a safe, secure and friendly learning
environment for every student.
The Anti-Ragging Committee addresses every complaint related to
ragging with utmost seriousness. All reported cases are
investigated immediately, and strict disciplinary action is taken
against those found guilty.
ANTI-RAGGING AWARENESS
OBJECTIVES
- ✔ Ensure a Ragging-Free Campus by maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of ragging.
- ✔ Create awareness among students about the UGC, AICTE and Government Anti-Ragging Regulations.
- ✔ Foster a safe, secure, friendly and respectful learning environment for every student.
- ✔ Encourage students to report incidents of ragging without fear or hesitation.
- ✔ Monitor and prevent all forms of physical, verbal, mental and psychological harassment.
- ✔ Examine complaints promptly and ensure fair, transparent and timely action.
- ✔ Recommend appropriate disciplinary action against students found guilty of ragging.
- ✔ Promote discipline, mutual respect, equality and ethical values among students.
- ✔ Protect the dignity, rights and well-being of every student on the campus.
- ✔ Help newly admitted students adjust to campus life through positive interaction and guidance.
- ✔ Strengthen teamwork between students, faculty members and parents to eliminate ragging.
- ✔ Maintain a healthy academic atmosphere that supports learning, personal growth and character development.

ACTION TO BE TAKEN BY THE ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE / HEAD OF THE INSTITUTION
On receipt of any complaint or recommendation from the Anti-Ragging
Committee or Anti-Ragging Squad, the Head of the Institution shall
immediately examine the matter. If a case under the penal laws is made
out, a First Information Report (FIR) shall be filed with the Police
and Local Authorities within 24 hours.
The following offences are treated seriously:
- ✔ Abetment to ragging.
- ✔ Criminal conspiracy to rag.
- ✔ Unlawful assembly and rioting.
- ✔ Public nuisance created during ragging.
- ✔ Violation of decency and morals.
- ✔ Physical injury or grievous hurt.
- ✔ Wrongful restraint or confinement.
- ✔ Use of criminal force or assault.
- ✔ Sexual offences or unnatural offences.
- ✔ Extortion.
- ✔ Criminal trespass.
- ✔ Offences against property.
- ✔ Criminal intimidation.
- ✔ Attempt or threat to commit any ragging-related offence.
- ✔ Physical or psychological humiliation.
- ✔ Any other offence covered under the definition of ragging.
The Head of the Institution shall also report the incident to the
District Level Anti-Ragging Committee and the Nodal Officer of the
affiliating University. The internal enquiry shall continue and be
completed within seven days of the reported incident.
ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION IN THE EVENT OF RAGGING
Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offence, the
Anti-Ragging Committee may recommend one or more of the following
punishments:
- ✔ Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
- ✔ Withholding or withdrawal of scholarship, fellowship or other benefits.
- ✔ Debarring from appearing in examinations or other evaluation processes.
- ✔ Withholding of examination results.
- ✔ Debarring from representing the institution in regional, national or international events, tournaments or youth festivals.
- ✔ Suspension or expulsion from the hostel.
- ✔ Cancellation of admission.
- ✔ Rustication from the institution for a period ranging from one to four semesters.
- ✔ Permanent expulsion from the institution and debarment from admission to any other institution for a specified period.
